Ari and I decided to have a picnic this weekend. The plans may not have went exactly as planned but we had a fun day! We were planning to have chicken "nuggies" for the main food; however, Texas heat brought us out earlier than McDonald's offered lunch options. Yes, Gramma did not want to waste time cooking and who does not like McNuggets? We ended up with Sonic burgers. Ari enjoys bananas with honey and wanted Gramma to try it. Gramma wanted Ari to try Pocky, a simply little snack from the store with something like a cross between a pretzel and cracker covered in chocolate - yum! Ari was skeptical but she liked them! Our menu also had blueberries, grapes, strawberries, apple snack bars, mozzarella string cheese, and bottled water. Gramma tends to go overboard on food, to make sure everyone has something they will enjoy.
We had also planned to go to a park, but again Texas heat suggested tailgating in their backyard. Ari always takes me on a fun adventure in her backyard showing me how she exercises (she made Gramma workout too!) and various features such as a hiding spot in the treesl, her cactus, and her swing.
We went inside to play with toys and imagination to cool down, and then ended the day at Michaels for some crafts. It will be a memory that we all will cherish!
